The Krewe's Community Involvement

Hillsborough Education Foundation

The Foundation is able to offer a number of cash scholarships to graduating seniors thanks to the generosity of local businesses, individual donors as well as civic and charitable groups. Hillsborough Education Foundation scholarship offerings are advertised through the guidance offices at all Hillsborough County high schools. Students are urged to log on to The Foundation website and apply on-line during designated application periods.Students participate in a competitive application process. In 2006, The Foundation received requests for ten times the number of scholarships than it could fund. Consider providing the means to which a deserving student can further enhance themselves by continuing their education.

Tinker Elementary School, MacDill AFB

GKDL visits Tinker Elementary School each year to provide cheer and pass out beads and booty to the children of our nation's Armed Service Members.

Tampa General Hospital

GKDL visits the children's ward and children's critical care unit to pass out beads and provide cheer and amusement to the critically ill children who cannot attend the Gasparilla parades. Grand Krewe de Libertalia brings the parade to the kids!
